Motion Sensor Outdoor

The Paulmann Outdoor motion sensor can be used in conjunction with Amazon Echo, provided there is a Zigbee interface.*

The first step here is to pair the sensor with the Amazon Echo. After its integration in Alexa routines, the sensor’s motion detection can also be used as a activation trigger for illumination.

The brightness threshold for the activation of the sensor’s motion detection can, however, only be configured via a smik system. In conjunction with Amazon Echo, the sensor will use its default settings.

The sensor can be paired with Amazon Echo as follows:

1. Reset the sensor to its factory settings if it has already been in use**

2. Open the Amazon Alexa app
3. Navigate to the “Devices” category and press the “+” at the top.
4. Select “Add device” and then the category “Motion sensor”
5. Select the tag “Other” and then the technology option “Zigbee”
6. Start the device search on Amazon Echo
7. Start the sensor connection mode***

Once successfully paired, the Paulmann Outdoor motion sensor will be displayed under “Devices” as “Motion sensor” in the Amazon Alexa app. Klick on the line item and start integrating the sensor in an Alexa routine via the “Details” page of the sensor.

**Press and hold the Reset button for at least five seconds. The reset was successful if the LED flashes five times.

***Press and hold the Learn button for at least five seconds to activate pairing mode. The sensor LED will continuously light for three seconds, once the gateway has successfully added the sensor via the relevant accessory search.
