An installation of the 24 V LED DC system is easy and safe. No need to dig trenches like for a 230 V installation.
The motto is: easy – safe – do it yourself. All it takes is 3 steps:
1. Place the luminaires where you want them
Put the LED garden luminaires exactly where you will be using them. We have some planning tips for you to get your lighting concept right.
2. Put together the cable system
Simply plug all system components (luminaires, cable connectors, transformers, etc.) together and create screw connections. The distributor cables (connectors) are available in various lengths and with a variety of plugs for the LED luminaires. Connect the luminaires to the ends of the distributor cables. Don't connect any luminaire to the end of a cable branch if you are planning to extend the cable to add more LED outdoor lights.
3. Choose a transformer based on the total system output. Done!
Once everything is connected, you still need to add the transformer. The Plug & Shine system offers various transformer types. Add up the wattages of all luminaires in the system. Their total wattage must not exceed the wattage of the transformer.
Our tip: Have a look at your lighting installation after dark before you attach it permanently. Maybe it would look even better with one or two luminaires in a different location? You can finish everything off the next day.
Switching and dimming: Easy control of your lights via remote control
You can switch your system remotely if you have a smart outdoor wall plug. Otherwise you could add controllers to the cable system. They will allow you to switch or dim the entire system with a remote control.
You have three options for controller placement:
1. Install a controller upstream of an individual luminaire to control it separately.
2. Place a controller directly downstream of your transformer to control all luminaires.
3. Place the controller upstream of a luminaire group to create various lighting scenarios.
The controller can handle up to 75 W.
Plug & Shine garden luminaires – Safety
The Plug & Shine system is super safe! The UV-resistant cables and waterproof connectors are designed specifically for permanent outdoor use. The cables have the protection class IP68, meaning they are fully waterproof. All Plug & Shine luminaires are weatherproof, non-corroding and jet-water protected, or have an even higher IP protection class.
