Whether mounted on the wall or ceiling, the square " Lamina " panel—with its black frame and black interior surface—emits a diffuse, warm white light. The additional ambient light creates a pleasant atmosphere and highlights the wall and ceiling. It helps with navigation in the dark and enhances safety. In its default setting, the panel emits light at 20% brightness and 2,200 Kelvin. As soon as someone approaches, the built-in motion detector switches the light to 100% brightness and 3,000 Kelvin. After about 30 seconds, the light reverts to the stored light colour and brightness. If desired, the orientation light can also be deactivated via the wall switch; in this case, the lights are controlled only by the motion detector. Additionally, the motion detector can be deactivated, in which case the lights turn on and off only via the twilight sensor. The lights emit a warm golden light (2,200 K) with a low blue component. According to studies, warm, long-wavelength light generally attracts fewer nocturnal insects than cool white light.
