Zigbee technology allows you to control your Paulmann lighting system via a Zigbee 3.0 gateway via app or an optional remote control. The controllable features vary depending on the product: Convenient On/Off, dimming, free colour selection from 16 million hues or white tome selection (Tunable White).
The heart of the smart lighting system is the software, which turns classic hardware into smart devices and connects the components of the system to create a pleasant lighting experience. The smik lighting control system, which is essential for this, was designed and developed by Paulmann together with its partners in Europe. When developing the application level on the Gateway, the Mobile Apps, the cloud area and the voice control, the focus was particularly on high user-friendliness combined with high system security and technological future-proofing. We have used and optimised tried-and-tested market solutions as the foundation for the smart lighting control system – for example, tailor-made Linux and Microsoft Azure solutions have found their way into the smik lighting system.
Reporting security vulnerabilities
Paulmann is committed to ensuring the safety of our customers and our products. We therefore welcome information about potential security vulnerabilities in our solutions. For this purpose, you will find the standardised procedure for reporting security-related information to Paulmann on the following page.
The smik lighting system was developed in accordance with GDPR principles. The privacy policy shows transparently what personal data we collect, how we handle it and what rights you have. We only save personal data if this is technically necessary. However, no subsequent personal analysis of this data takes place, not even for possible usage data to improve the system. We will also never sell or trade your data to third parties.
We have also taken various precautions to protect your Smik lighting system. Here are a few examples:
The use of Microsoft Azure Services means state-of-the-art security mechanisms for the relevant system areas.
Data such as your user account and necessary Paulmann Cloud services are hosted in Germany.
The communication channels within the system and critical system data are encrypted. Personal authentication methods are used in specific cases and additional security keys are generated automatically.
Maintenance access to the system administration, including any data, is only possible for a minimum number of necessary administrators.
The smik lighting system is regularly checked for possible security gaps, including by external experts.
